Bringing their first ever summer camp to Burlington and Oakville, Playground Pros is the official multi-sport summer camp of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Rap- tors, Toronto FC and Toronto Argonauts. The camp is offered at various locations throughout July, teaching skills in soccer, ball hockey, flag football and basketball. The camps are described as having something for everyone, offering kids from six- to ten-years old of all skill levels, an opportunity to stay active and make friends during the summer. "We've designed a foundational pro- gram to introduce our sports and teams in a fun setting - it's like recess but in the summer," said Shannon Travers, Manag-summer," said Shannon Travers, Manag-summer," said Shannon Travers, Manag er of Sport Development for Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment. There are four, one-week summer camps offered throughout Burlington and Oakville from July 8 to August 2. Camp participants get a camp t-shirt, certificate of participation, a special birthday mes- sage from their favourite MLSE team and much more. "We know kids stay in sport longer when taught age-appropriate activities and playing modified games" Travers said. "We're excited to launch Playground Pros for kids in Halton this summer and hope to expand our locations in the com- ing years." The camp's philosophy is to provide a safe and positive youth sport experience that ignites a passion to play. Each day of the week focuses on a different sport, closing the week off with two tournaments based on what they've learned. Sport camps inspired by Toronto's pro teams in Oakville Striving to offer the best home services to Oakville and area, Halton Exteriors has been recognized for its hard work by win- ning the Oakville Beaver's Readers' Choice and the HomeStars award for three years in a row. The family owned, and operated busi- ness was opened by Frank Soule and his wife Debbie in 2013. In the last six years, the company has grown to offer services ranging from garage door repairs to win- dow and door capping. "We specialize in any kind of job, espe- cially the smaller ones," said Soule. "They don't need to be huge projects for us to come over there and do it. We'll fix that shed roof, or that one piece of eaves- trough at the front of the house if that's all that is needed." With the weather starting to warm up, Soule explained that many of their servic- es will be in demand in order to prepare for the summer. Although they offer a wide va- riety of home improvement projects, their key services include eavestroughs, cus- tom aluminum, chimney repair and porch columns. •Eavestroughs: It's crucial to avoid sat- It's crucial to avoid sat- It's crucial to avoid sat uration of rainwater against the foundation of your home. Halton Exteriors repairs and installs eavestroughs and offers a wide va- riety of colours. •Custom Aluminum: In addition to eavestrough replacement, Halton Exteriors specializes in all custom aluminum work. Soffit, fascia, wall flashing and capping windows and garage doors. •Chimney repair: Cracks or absence of a chimney cap can cause water to move along the joints of brick, especially during the winter months during a thaw. Below freezing temperatures cause expansion, which creates the crack, and can lead to major damages. Caught early on though, installing a new concrete chimney cap will prevent further damage. •Porch columns: Whether they're provid- ing support, or they're just for decorative purposes, according to Soule, the wooden columns used extensively in newer subdivi- sions won't stand the test of time. "We re- place these wood columns with fibreglass columns for support or polyvinyl chloride (PVC) for wrap around applications where a metal post is already installed." Halton Exteriors provides and installs the finished product; sanded, washed, primed caulked and painted. "The people who do the work, and the quality of their workmanship, it really fol- lows us around," Soule explained. "It's the relationships we've built, and integrity of the installers, that's the key to the mark we've made in the Oakville community." Halton Exteriors is located on Queen Mary Drive in Oakville.
