The Halton-Hamilton Source Protection Region comprises the areas of the Halton Region and the Hamilton Region Conservation Authorities. A Source Protection Committee was established in accordance with the CleanWater Act, 2006 and has developed a locally driven, science-based source protection plan that aims to reduce the risk of contamination and overuse of the sources of our drinking water. The role of the Source Protection Committee is to guide the review and updating of the source protection plan using a science-based approach and to ensure that all relevant information is being taken into account. The Source Protection Committee is comprised of nine members plus the Chair, who act as liaisons for their sectors, and regularly attend committee and public meetings. Halton-Hamilton Source Protection Region Halton police are asking for the public's help identi-for the public's help identi-f fying a burglar followingfying a burglar followingf break-ins at two Oakville apartment buildings. On April 24 at around 3:55 a.m., a man was seen on security camera prying open a side door and enter- ing an apartment building in the Trafalgar Road and White Oaks Boulevard ar- ea. Police said the individu- al attempted to use a grind- er saw to access the tenant mailboxes, the superinten- dent office and an under- ground garage. When these attempts failed, he pried open a vend-failed, he pried open a vend-f ing machine in the lobby of the building and stole cans of soda. The thief then went to another apartment build- ing in the same area and at 5:10 a.m., was able to get in- side. He attempted to access the superintendent office and the mailboxes inside this building but failed again. The man is described as white, 30-35 years old, five- foot-ten to six-foot, with afoot-ten to six-foot, with af slim build and dark hair. He wore black pants, a black hoodie with a white zipper, white shoes and an army green camouflage hat. He carried a grey back- pack.
