On Friday, April 12, the 18- year-old victim and three sus- pects gathered in a forested area near Fourth Line and Lower Base Line West. Police allege the purpose of the meeting was to settle a mari- juana drug debt. During the transaction police allege the victim was struck with a baton, punched in the face and robbed of his basketball shoes, backpack and jacket. The victim was treated at a hospital for minor injuries. An investigation by the Halton police Oakville criminal investi- gations bureau led to three ar- rests. Daniel Ricaurte, 19, of Milton has been charged with commit- ting a robbery with violence. Two 17-year-old youths, who cannot be named because of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, have been charged with committing a robbery with violence. One 17-year-old also faces a charge of failing to comply with probation. Ricaurte was held in custody pending a bail hearing. The two youths were each re- leased from custody on a promise to appear in court.
