Friendly people, GreatGreatGr Music Jesus, God and the Holy Spirit! Danielle's Story. At Kerr Street Mission, our community meals have become an integral part of what we do. We recognize that connecting with others and having a sense of belonging and friendship has a profound impact on our health and wellbeing. This is why we serve over 25,000 meals a year with the help of over 125 volunteers each month. This is the story of one inspiring 12-year-old with a big goal to serve her own community meal. Meet Danielle - a grade seven student, who chose serving a KSM community meal as her year long project. She began by doing bottle drives and earned $400 which she used to purchase the groceries for the meal. She also planned the meal and assembled a team to help her. Together they served a tasty breakfast of pancakes, sausages, eggs, toast, fresh fruit and coffee to over 100 people. In addition to planning and preparing this tasty community meal, she had $125.00 remaining, which she decided to donate to the KSM food market. We are so blessed to have met such an engaged youth who was so eager to serve her community. Thank you Danielle and friends! Visit kerrstreet.com to learn more about how you can get involved.
