The incident occurred just after 8 p.m. outside St. Luke's Anglican Church in the area of Dundas Street West and Bronte Road.Road.R Oakville firefighters, Halton regional po- lice and Halton Region paramedics re- sponded to the incident. Police say one of the women, a 92-year- old from Oakville, has gone to Hamilton General Hospital with life-threatening head injuries while the other, an 84-year-old from Burlington, has gone to Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. It appears one of the women was a pedes- trian struck by the vehicle - a Hyundai se- dan - as it was reversing after hitting a curb, while the other woman was the driver of the Hyundai and fell out of the open driver's door as the car reversed, according to police. The vehicle then continued to move, dragging one of the women before stopping near the church, according to early witness reports. There were events happening at the church Wednesday evening, prompting a small crowd and several people who rushed to the scene. One woman said she saw the two women - "they were laying on the street" - and imme- diately called for help.
