The online publication Animation Career Review - which annually ranks schools offering animation, game design and graphic de- sign programs - listed Sheri- dan in its 2019 ranking as the number 1 international ani- mation college in the world, excluding the U.S. Sheridan staff said that Animation Career Review considered more than 160 in- stitutions outside of the U.S. in developing its ranking. Their analysis looked at each school's academic rep- utation, admission selectiv- ity, depth and breadth of program, and value as it re- lates to tuition and indebt- edness. "We're incredibly proud of this noteworthy recogni- tion as a world-leading des- tination for animation edu- cation," said Janet Morri- son, president and vice- chancellor of Sheridan. "Since 1968 when Sheri- dan held its first animation class, we've established our position at the forefront of teaching art in motion." Morrison said that Sheri- dan's animation program emphasizes classical princi- ples of animation in a vari- ety of forms, including 2D digital, 3D and stop motion.
