She will be remembered all over the world for her strength, kindness and absolute zest for life. Even in her final hours Ellen continued her steadfast endeavour of helping others. In leu of flowers Ellen's final wish was to give the Tartan Terrors the gift of kilts and new equipment. A GoFundMe has been created in her honour. Ellen's final curtain call will be held at Crawford Lake on Monday, August 26 at 5:30 p.m. Please bring a lawn chair, a story to share and make a new friend. McCART, Sheila January 27, 1928 - August 13, 2019 Sheila passed away peacefully in her sleep at Sunset Lodge in Victoria BC. She is survived by her son Christopher (McCart), his wife Karen and grandson's Ridley and Hayden, all of Burlington ON. She was predeceased by her daughter, Beth. Sheila leaves behind a brother, Dennis (Tugwood) of Brighton ON. Sheila made many friends throughout her life, many of them becoming life-long friends. Sheila Tugwood was born in Trail BC and moved to Toronto where she would meet her husband, Bill (McCart). They first lived in Newmarket before settling in Oakville to start their family. Sheila returned to BC for her retirement years and lived happily on Pender Island for 25 years, always with one of her dogs as a constant companion and hiking partner. Sheila's request to be cremated with her ashes both laid to rest at St. Jude's cemetary in Oakville with her daughter, Beth and also scattered on Pender Island. No services are planned. Abrahams, loving wife, mother of three children and beloved grandmother passed away at age 84. Margaret Constance Walder was born on June 3, 1935 in Eastbourne, England. She was educated at Eastbourne High School and, as a physiotherapist at St. Mary's Hospital, London. Margaret married John Abrahams in Cambridge, England and they celebrated their sixty- second wedding anniversary in April. Margaret will be fondly remembered by her sons David, Paul and Stephen together with daughters-in-law Joanne and Charlene. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Alexandra, Tara, Jessee, Aimee, Brennan and Declan. Margaret worked with the Red Cross in Burlington and Oakville for 25 years, caring for people in their last stage of life. She was a collector of the world, keeping souvenirs from all the magnificent places she explored. Irish songs and hymns could always bring a smile to her face. Grounded in her Christian faith, Margaret was an active member of Faith Baptist Church. She was known for her ability to make friends with anyone who crossed her path, for always speaking her mind, but most of all for her kind and loving spirit. A Memorial Service for Margaret will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2019 in Faith Baptist Church, 1415 Trafalgar Road, Oakville, followed by a reception with the family. PASCHAL, (Matthew) Vincent Born April 6, 1926 in Moncton, N.B., passed away August 17, 2019 in Georgetown, ON., of pneumonia. Predeceased by his wife Alice, and all siblings but his beloved sister Eileen of Aurora, Colorado. He leaves behind sons Myk and Tom, daughter Carol, grand-daughters Chanel and Alysha, and daughter-in-law Nesha, and many nieces and nephews and their families across Canada and the United States. Vince was a highly decorated soldier, having received the Order of Military Merit. He was a long time member of the Church of the Epiphany in Bronte, where he lived for 40 years. Our family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Georgetown hospital, and the Bennett Centre for their kindness and care in Vince's final days. He will be missed by countless people in North America, Europe, and Trinidad. His funeral ceremony will be held at the Oakview Funeral Home, 56 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville. Viewing on Saturday, August 24 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Service will begin at 1 p.m. For those who cannot attend, condolences can be left at oakviewfuneral.ca.
