Marc Taraso said an incredibly unsafe BMW has been taken off the road and its driver, a 17-year-old boy, is facing a rash of charges. The incident occurred Friday (Aug. 30) near Bronte Road and Dundas Street West when the offi- cer said he could hear the BMW and its safety defects and immediately pulled over the luxury vehicle. Taraso said the BMW had stickers on the wind- shield, obstructing the driver's view, an "inopera- ble" driver door and no muffler. He charged the G2 driv- er with not being buckled up, operating an unsafe ve- hicle, not having a muffler and having an object ob- struct his view, all charges under the Highway Traffic Act. "The plates and permit were seized ... and the vehi- cle was ordered removed from the roadway," Tarasofrom the roadway," Tarasof said. "The driver will have to repair the issues, obtain a new safety standards certificate and apply for a new permit before putting the vehicle back on the road."
