The Club at North Halton worked with a lo- cal electrical contractor, Power Quest Electric and Total Energy Solutions, in collaboration with  Halton Hills Hydro to complete a retrofit of their interior lighting systems. This retrofit reduced their electrical con- sumption by close to 190,282 kWh/year and has a 1.4-year payback. The funding comes from Halton Hills Hydro under the Ontario Power Authority's (OPA) saveONenergy program. "Conservation and demand management is not only good for the environment, but it makes good business sense. Organizations such as The Club at North Halton receive an incentive payment that helps offset the initial installation cost of the retrofit. We encour- age all of our customers to participate in the saveONenergy programs," said Art Skidmore, president & CEO of Halton Hills Hydro. "The Board of Directors at The Club at North Halton understood the benefits and im- pact of switching to energy efficient lighting-- not only for the environmental impact, but, for a direct impact on the hydro savings to their bottom line," said Louis Violo, Power Quest Electric and Total Energy Solutions. Kyle Stewart, General Manager of the Club at North Halton added, "When we com- menced planning the renovation project of our locker rooms, we had major thoughts of light- ing updates for environmental responsibility, cost benefits and aesthetics. With the saveO- Nenergy program in place and a great return on investment we decided to go energy effi- cient and update the whole facility's lighting."
