On their test day, St. Catherine students were able to increase the number of blue bin items deposited from the previous 2.3 pounds to 3.5, while reducing the amount of garbage from 4.7 pounds to just 1.7. For their waste-minimization efforts, stu- dents at St. Catherine were rewarded by be- ing named one of 20 schools in the province as winners of the competition and received a classroom set of Thermos reusable lunch kits.
