These recipients are involved in their music rescoring clubs, members of their schools bands, members of art councils, in- volved in musicals and anything to do with music in the com- munity. All of the youth have been successfully balancing their academics, with their performing arts participation while also dedicated their time to a variety of volunteer opportunities. Inspiration Award Winners ALANNA LUMBERS, KAROLINE FONTANA, SANJAY BABOOLAL, GREGORY LITSTER, ISABELLA VOTTO, ISABELLA MONTANA, KENNEDY WATCHORN AND SYDNEY FITZPATRICK Recipients for this award inspire their peers through their men- toring, coaching and motivational personality. These recipients have organized and led initiatives such as peer conversation focus groups that fostered a space to talk about roles within their school and community. In addition, they have coordinated writing groups to mentor other students, take lead in a school mentoring program, coached younger children, raised money to build schools in other countries, and are highly involved in sports. Through their natural abilities to lead and motivate others, they have inspired other youth to get involved, make a difference and stand up for their own believes. Both their passion and enthusiasm is contagious and they have truly promoted a positive image of youth in our community. Community Involvement Award Winners ANNA ZIABEK , CHELSEA DOLAN, CHRISTINA BARBALIAS, CURTIS PAPETTI, EMILY KOVACS, ERIN COLLINS, JESSICA TESKE, JULIANA PILECI, MICHAEL LATON, RYAN KEANE AND XANDER EWING Recipients for this award dedicate their time and efforts to organizing local events and volunteer in a variety of ways within their community. For youth by youth is what these recipients are about! We have many youth doing many amazing things within Hal- ton Hills. These youth volunteer their time in Big Brothers Big Sisters of Halton Homework club, volunteered within their school clubs, assist with school shows, organized Re- lay for life events, take part in Rock the Hills, help with the best buddies program and school sports. Spirit Award Winners DAMIEN FERRELL, ETHAN HUNTER, HELEN KIROPLIS, KATELYN QUINN, JAMES CLARK, MEGHAN RAYCROFT AND RYAN MILFORD Recipients for this award promote a positive image of youth through their ability to advocate for their own or their peer's beliefs. A group of these recipients recently facilitated a presen- tation at a conference that shared their core values of mean- ingful engagement and shared stories about their school and local community. In addition some of these youth have advocated for beliefs through events such as Relay for Life, Summer Blast, toy drives, school charities, school mentor- ship program and initiatives such as Pink Day. We do not have enough time to list all the inspiration things these youth do for our Halton Hills community. Awareness Award Winners AMY DESOUZA, ARIELLE RAHAL , CHANEL MCMAHON, EMILY AYALA, EMILY HUMBER, KAITLYN HOWIE, KAITLIN TIMMONS AND KIANA KLASSEN Recipients of the awareness award are actively involved in increasing awareness around a special cause. All of the recipients of this award have the passion and dedication to their cause and have done wonders at spread- ing awareness. These youth have taking lead with initiatives for the Acton's Gay-Straight Alliance, raised money for a school Christmas fundraisers, championed for a relay for life event, organized a pink campaign, and are active mem- bers of link crew. These youth are truly dedicated individu- als. Sport Award Winners ANTONIO SERENO, BEN BASILIO, CLAUDIO SERENO, MACKENZIE CAMERON, TAYLOR RICHARD AND TESSA CIEPLUCHA Recipients of the sport award exhibit a passion for sports through their participation and volunteerism within a sport. These five youth have demonstrated their natural pas- sion and leadership within sports such as track & field, field hockey, basketball, rugby, wrestling, swimming, and soccer. There have been many awards and goals achieved between these athletes that they should all be proud of. Not only are these recipients involved as players but they also volunteer their time as dedicated coaches others in their respected sports within the community.
