Professional Arts Building 99 Sinclair Ave., Suite 210, Georgetown 905-873-6642 Serving the community of Halton Hills and surrounding areas since 1992 The Georgetown A diminished social life is one of the most difficult aspects of age related hearing loss. Many people avoid drawing attention to their hearing loss by having fewer social contacts when it becomes difficult understanding what is being said. The result is an altered and lonely existence that family and friends may mistake for dementia. Learning new strategies to cope with hearing loss could go a long way to restoring confidence and improving communication. The Hearing Clinic recommends the following: Inform people of the hearing loss so they may modify their speech; eliminate background noise; watch the speaker carefully and sharpen natural lip-reading abilities; ask the speaker to repeat what was said if necessary, and above all else; have your hearing thoroughly tested and properly fit with one of today's modern hearing instruments. Contact The Hearing Clinic if you or someone you know needs assistance. From Aug. 10-14, an elite camp for rep players in two groups, age 6-10 and 11-16, will run alongside a goal- ies-only (age 6-18) instructional camp at Mold-Masters, followed by a skill development camp for all players in two groups, 6-10 and 11-16. Short game! Short game! This time of the year every- one is looking to lower their scores and get to that next goal whether it be breaking a 100 for the first time, sneaking into the 80's or shooting your first under par round. The key to reaching these mile- stones lies heavily upon your short game and the ability to turn a big number into a smaller one on the scorecard. Of course we need good tech- nique and a vision of what we want to do with the shot but the key to a good short game is practice. Not only practising straight forward pitches, chips, putts and sand shots but including in your practice, time for the shots that often occur more often, the trouble shots, uphill, downhill, sidehill, plugged lies in the bunker, shots from taller rough and generally those shots you hope you never have. Split your practice time in half between full swing and short game, then take half your short game time and spend it on putting. Cory Gentes is a 14-year PGA of Canada Teaching Professional and the Director of Instruction at The Old Pro Driving Range.   Hockey camp returns in August DVD & BLU-RAY RentALs OVER 10,000 TiTlEs QUIK-PIK VARIETY STORE across from CtK 905-877-6463 160 GuElph sT., GEORGETOwn • Lottery • GreetING CArDS • e-CIGArette • AtM • Divergent • True Story • Hot Pursuit New Releases $999 S P E C I A L ANY 2 MOVIES, 2L POP & Large Bag of chips Cheaper than Costco + tax
