It is located between Steeles Avenue and Highway 401. The Town, in conformity with the Halton Region Official Plan, had proposed through Town Official Plan Amendment 10 (OPA 10) to designate an additional 340 gross hectares (840 acres) of land for employment on the north side of Steeles Avenue. However, the Region and the Town have now had to reconsider the location of the proposed expansion of the Employment Area as a result of the introduction of corridor protection for the GTA West Transportation Corridor. The Premier Gateway Phase 1B Employment Area: Secondary Plan Study will develop appropriate land use designations and policies for the Phase 1B Employment Area and identify the location of up to 75 hectares of land to be designated for employment and added to the Premier Gateway Employment Area. The United Way of Halton Hills' Annual Holiday House Tour will take place on Satur- day, Nov. 21, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Your ticket allows you to view six fabulous homes in Halton Hills, all decked out for Christmas. This year's homes are located in Georgetown and rural Acton. All six homes are stunning and each one is unique. With Christmas approaching, the homeowners invite you to visit their houses and leave with some great decorating ideas! As well as touring the homes, your ticket also entitles you to enjoy a light lunch (be- tween 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.) at St. Andrew's United Church in Georgetown, where there will be some vendor tables for guests to pur- chase some early Christmas gifts! Tickets are now on sale for this popular event and can be purchased for a cost of $30 per person. All proceeds from the tour go towards the United Way of Halton Hills' 2015 Campaign Goal of $375,000. United Way of Halton Hills currently funds 21 local agencies, which offer programs and services to people of all ages. Agencies include: Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Halton, Distress Cen- tre North Halton, Food For Life, Food4Kids, Literacy North Halton, Lighthouse Program for Grieving Children, St. John Ambulance and more.
