Hopefully you purchased your ticket early for the Nov. 16 social dinner as due to the week- end, we had to place our dinner order early. The cut-off date was Wednesday, Nov 11. Are you planning on attending the Reach Out Festive Lunch on Nov. 17? The idea is not only for members to attend but to bring a neighbour or friend. Betty Holmes won the pedicure in the monthly birthday draw and Cecile Trem- blay was happy to hear she had won the Swarovski crystal seal. This month the draw is for nine delicate Bohemian Crystal glass- es. Don't forget the wonderful penny table with so many beautiful and useful items or the lovely Christmas basket with three spar- kling Christmas trees. You might be lucky enough to win these items at our Christmas Fair on Nov. 23, so double your chances by buying some tickets earlier. People have been asking if we will be sell- ing the delicious fruit cakes again this year. Unfortunately the company is no longer making them. This year we will be selling Shriners' fruit cakes and Christmas pud- dings. They are available at the reception desk for people going south for the winter or who are away over the Christmas season. If you have commitments on a Thurs- day afternoon and can't enjoy learning new dances or just dancing with the social danc- ing group, you have the chance to join them in the evening on Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. There are two lists at the reception desk for you to sign if you wish to make a donation to the Christmas Fair. One list is for donated food items to make sandwiches, tea and cof- fee etc. and the second is for squares suitable for the tea. Don't forget we always need lots of baking, items for the craft table, gently used items for grannies attic, Christmas items, plants, jams for the country store and books, puzzles and games. We will be happy to ac- cept items Thursday Nov. 18 and baking Fri- day afternoon or early Saturday morning. Lunch on Nov. 19 will be pizza and salad plus dessert. Mary Walsma was busy calling Bingo numbers on Friday afternoon when she heard the good news she had won the week- ly 50/50. She won $199.50. Thinking of Bingo, on Saturday evening 37 people enjoyed playing. We will take a break during the winter months and start again in March. The Whitebelt is the area outside the Greenbelt and existing settlement areas in south Caledon. A 400-series highway, known as the GTA West Transportation Corridor, is being planned by the province to go across the Whitebelt. The GTA West Land Use Study, previously initiated by the Town to look at employment land in in the vicinity of the GTA West corridor, is being expanded to include a Visioning Exercise for the entire Whitebelt. This Study will look at all land uses including residential, commercial, institutional, employment lands, agriculture and environmental protection. The Town has retained Meridian Planning Consultants to complete the study. The Town will be holding a Public Open House to obtain public input on the early stages of the Whitebelt Visioning Exercise. What is thePurposeandFormat? The purpose is to introduce the project and gather community input on potential alternative locations for future land uses and criteria for evaluating the alternative locations. The Public Open House will include an open house format for one-on-one discussions with Town staff and the consultants, followed by a formal presentation and question and answer session.
