The Reel Celts band is coming back to George- town, this time delivering their Robbie Burns Day concert. On Saturday, Jan. 27, the crew will perform at the John Elliott Theatre. With them, they will bring their definitive Robbie Burns show on the musician's birthday. Through song, stories, narration and dance, per- formed against a backdrop of over 300 photographs of Scotland, the Real Robbie Burns featuring the Celts is a concert exploring the life and times of Scotland's most famous son, poet, songwriter and raconteur, Robert Burns. Burns was much more than the character celebrat- ed annually on Burn's Day: colourful, complex, humor- ous and romantic. From love songs to rebel songs, blazing instrumentals to singalongs, the Real Robbie Burns is sure to entertain. Much of the story is told in Burn's own words, from let- ters he wrote, and it high- lights many little-known or perhaps suppressed ele- ments of the man known as Scotland's Bard, according to a press release. The show will take place at 8 p.m. Ticket prices are $30 for adults, $25 for se- niors 65-plus, and students up to age 17 are $15. Tickets are available at www.hal- tonhills.ca/theatre/de- tails.php?Movieid=447, and can also be purchased at the door.
