On April 22, shortly before noon, Halton police and ambu- lance were called to the residence where Brown was found uncon- scious. Halton police have not identi- fied Brown, but his brother, Tyler Brown, did confirm the death. Po- lice have not released a cause of death but say that the teen died at the home. Since that time, rabies rates have spiked across the GTA, including Halton Region, where public health officials received reports of 1,118 animal to human exposures. Since Oct. 4, 2016, 15 raccoons and 11 skunks have tested positive for rabies in Halton. Since the beginning of this year, there have been over 397 cases of raccoon strain rabies across Brant, Haldimand, Halton, Hamilton and Niagara.
