Frost Photographic/photo A driver is facing three charges, including impaired operation, following a colli- sion involving five vehicles at Trafalgar Road and High- way 401 late Saturday. According to Halton Re- gional Police, officers were called to the scene at 11:50 p.m. on Dec. 8. Two vehi- cles were involved in a head-on collision that re- sulted in three other vehi- cles being swiped on both sides of the overpass. Following a police inves- tigation, one driver was charged with impaired op- eration of a motor vehicle, driving with over 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood, and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. Two people, including the driver charged, were taken to Milton District Hospital with minor inju- ries. The road was temporar- ily closed in both direc- tions in the early morning hours of Dec. 9, as police cleared the scene. On Nov. 7, 2016, Innocent Annih was arrested at a Georgetown package deliv- ery company for trying to retrieve one of three pack- ages that the Canada Bor- der Services Agency was previously able to inter- cept. Two of the packages, all sent from India and Ma- laysia, were on route to Port Perry, Ont. Halton police says the packages contained a total of 990 grams of heroin con- cealed in various house- hold items, including purs- es and children's toys. On Sept. 28, 2018, Annih was convicted in Superior Court for conspiracy to im- port heroin, and two counts of attempted pos- session of heroin for the purpose of trafficking. He was sentenced on Nov. 23.
