Each year, Employment Halton supports more than 12,000 job seekers and more than 250 employers by providing services such as training, placement and access to online job boards. Here are some highlights from the 2018 Economic Review: • $1.8 billion in total building construction • Investments by national and international businesses including DSV Canada, Ford Motor Company, Oak West Corporate Centre, Great Lakes Business Park, Futura (CanWel Building Materials), QuadReal Property Group and Crawmet (Crawford Metals) • Average unemployment rate of 5.3 per cent (lower than provincial and national rates) Results from the Review also show that the Regional economy is strong, steady and well- positioned for continued business success in 2019.
