The Halton Climate Collective (HCC) is focused on educating and transforming Halton into a low-carbon, climate-resilient community. To achieve this, the organiza- tion is leading a community-wide cam- paign called #HCCReads across Halton's public libraries in Milton, Burlington, Hal- ton Hills, and Oakville. At the event the HCC will lead a discus- sion of the #HCCReads selected book, Drawdown: The Most Comprehensive Plan Ever Proposed to Reverse Global Warming, by Paul Hawken. The book ex- plores 100 carefully vetted technological, social, and ecological solutions from vari- ous scholars, scientists, entrepreneurs, and advocates committed to reducing at- mospheric carbon within the next 30 years. More information about Project Draw- down is available at: www.drawdown.org. Copies of Drawdown can be placed on hold at the Halton Hills Public Library for pickup at both Georgetown and Acton branches of the Halton Hills Public Li- brary. The launch event takes place on June 18 at 7 p.m. at the Georgetown Branch.
