Veronica, beloved wife and best friend of Gordon for 57 years. Loving mother of Cathy (David Scott) and Gordie (Debbie). Cherished nanny of Christopher and Tyler Scott and Alycia and Melyssa Hart. Veronica is predeceased by her brother James (1977) and sister-in- law Elizabeth (1986). Dear sister of Mary (Bill McLean), Marjorie (Jerry English), Joan (Don McLean) and Kevin Brown. She will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Veronica was the happiest when she was spending time with her family, playing bingo, going to the casino and watching the Toronto Maple Leafs. We can only hope to have the strength, courage and stubborness that mom maintained throughout her life especially towards the end of her life. She put up a tremendous fight no matter what came her way. As a family we were able to spend many hours, days and months that enabled us to say our goodbyes to her. We are so very thankful that she is no longer in pain. A mother holds her children's hands for a while, their hearts forever. Thank you to all the Physicians, amazing nurses and wonderful staff at Georgetown Hospital. Friends will be received at the Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown on Thursday, May 16th from 3:00 - 5:00 pm. In memory, contributions to Georgetown Hospital are greatly appreciated. MILNE, Annette Marion Gibson Forster Dear family, neighbours and friends of Annette Marion Gibson Forster Milne. It is with great sadness that we report that our Mom Annette has lost her battle with the after-effects of stroke. She passed away peacefully at Peel Manor Nursing Home in Brampton. She is sorely missed, and will never be forgotten. Annette was a mother to seven kids, 14 grandchildren, four great- grandchildren. She immigrated to Canada from New Zealand in 1954, and then was married to Stanley Arthur Milne. As the children grew up, they had their friends constantly around the family farm, which is on the north- west end of Georgetown. That's when she decided to begin an entrepreneurial career by creating Wildwood Manor Farm, a functioning farm with no less than eight types of farm animals, centering on a Western Horseback Riding theme. A woman entrepreneur in the late '60's was an unusual career. It took a lot of courage and gumption. Mom certainly was blessed with a generous helping of both of those qualities. The Business started as a summer daycamp, public western horseback riding, and farm experience for young and old alike. Her business effectively involved the concerted efforts of her seven devoted employees....which were her children; ....The business grew and evolved, it morphed.... and it succeeded. Ten years later, the Jehovah Witness Watchtower Association tried to purchase the Farm, mom said "No Way", but they purchased the farms around her, so she finally agreed to sell. Over the course of the next two years, a new Wildwood Manor was built and readied, the location was on the 9th Line, near Ballinafad, where it became known as Wildwood Manor Ranch Inc. Mom excelled in this new location, a gorgeous 100 acre setting atop the Niagara Escarpment. Mom immersed herself and fully committed her heart into this new beginning. Everyone felt her energy, poise, class, hospitality and love. She had a amazing, successful and influential 45 year career as owner/operator, and it became such a passion and fulfillment for her. She continued with unbridled energy...never looking back . Besides a successful business woman, Mom was a teacher/mentor/inspirer/motivator and a genuine friend to so so many. She opened her home and heart to everyone. Mom loved Georgetown, and all who she came to know and share her life with. At 84 years young, while handing out brochures for her business at the Glen Williams Canada Day parade, 2014, Annette collapsed onto the roadway, and was rushed by paramedics to Trillium Stroke Care Unit for immediate care. Mom managed to grind through it and survive the massive stroke she had that day, but it cost her dearly. From that day forward, mom lost the use of her entire left side. Her life and freedoms changed immediately.....as she was confined to a hospital, and wheelchair and eventually a nursing home. True to her character, She didn't lose her will to live.....her energy, or her positive attitude. She always believed and prayed for God's Hand to heal her brain injury, to get her back on her feet, to get her back on the Farm where she could continue in her passion and way of life. She prayed so hard for God's mercy, if it was to be His Will! Sadly, It wasn't to be. But while she was wheelchair bound, while she waited God's Answers, adventures continued. With a firefighters sling, and teamwork, we hauled her up stair wells into two story lakeside Cottages, into buses, trains, Ferries, cars, vans. Into Airplanes for Cuba getaways, and into the ocean, on to Vancouver visiting family, and touring the Mountains and Islands. Using the sling, we slipped her into the warm waters of Georgian Bay, the Gulf of Mexico, into swimming pools, and the hotubs of Blue Mountain Village. She played tennis from her Wheelchair, threw balls, popped balloons,... and enjoyed many many Happy Hours with the use of her good arm;)) Mom still "made a difference", she "seized every moment of every day", "be your best". These were sayings she always quoted and demanded her kids to follow. After a recent illness and slow recovery at Peel Manor, Mom sadly suffered another stroke and died two days later. A wonderful kindred spirit snuffed out, silenced. The silence and the hole is heavy upon the hearts of all who knew and loved her. :( Although we miss her greatly, we're comforted knowing she had a vibrant and tangible faith in God. Baptized into Christ, her life committed to honoring/thanking and serving Him. At 78 she went to Kenya to help at a orphans school and residence. So many other things she donated , gave, lived and shared, in the name of her Faith in God. She now awaits the Biblical promise of The Resurrection, when our Lord Jesus Christ returns to complete His ministry of establishing God's Will "on Earth as it is in Heaven". In honouring Annettes life, we're going to have a Celebration of Life service on Sunday, May 26, 3:30-4:30 p.m. Visitation, followed by a Funeral Service from 4:30-530 p.m. at Brampton Funeral Home and Cemetery, Chinquousy Road and Bovaird Dr. A donation box will be at Funeral home for those wishing to support her favorite charity, "Agape in Action" a Christadelphian Charity that reaches out into the 3rd and developing world's, opening opportunities, nutrition, healthcare, clean water and Godly Wisdom to those in need. We pray God's Hand upon our Dear Mother, Annette Milne. May she Rest in Peace!!
