The Light Up the Hills volunteers have been busy getting the parks ready for the big night, with all lights being turned on at 7 p.m. This year, 100,000 LED lights will be illuminating the three parks. There will be 300 lighted trees, many illuminated displays and decorated light poles. There will also be over 500 memory balls on dis- play at Dominion Gardens on three Memory Trees, where local residents can pause to reflect and remem- ber their loved ones. Each community event will feature entertainment and complimentary food. The Lions Club will be serv- ing up hotdogs in Dominion Gardens, while Tim Hor- tons will be on hand with hot chocolate and Timbits. Those looking for a cold drink can enjoy a Saputo milkshake. In Acton, refreshments will include Maple Lodge hotdogs, McDonald's hot chocolate and Terra Cotta cookies. Hot chocolate and cookies will also be served in the Glen. Those who stop by the Dominion Gardens lighting can take a ride on Obie the CN Train or catch a movie being screened by the Real Canadian Superstore. Be sure to bring your camera for a photo with Santa or to capture a candid shot in the new selfie photo booth. The Light Up the Hills booth will be selling its cookbook, fluorescent Christmas light ups for children and tickets for its annual draw featuring a va- riety of prizes (draw date is Dec. 12). The lights will sparkle throughout the month of December to January 3, 2020. The seasonal display is sponsored by Light Up the Hills Inc., a non-profit organization in Halton Hills.
