For years, Kerr Street be- tween Speers and the train tracks has been ripped up and re- built repeatedly, often left in worse shape than it was. Much the same with Speers. In, fact Speers Road is in such bad shape, I feel like I've been in a popcorn maker by the time I get to work. Yet Oakville is able to slap to-Yet Oakville is able to slap to-Y gether a new waterfront lickety- split, and is presently decorating downtown with granite curbs? Meanwhile Shepherd Road behind us is a veritable waste- land now that a section of it is at risk of collapse. It's easy to see where town hall lays its priori- ties. Today, however, is the worst example of all. After years of rip- ping up Kerr Street, it's now part- ly inaccessible due to a water main break. Oakville had ample opportunities to fix it when the roads were being worked on. As if crossing at that corner wasn't dangerous enough, now we need ice skates to do it. When Oakville cannot even maintain basic infrastructure, its short-sightedness hurts us all.
