Susan Jane Lynd was found, peacefully deceased in her sleep, on Monday, November 11, 2019. She was taken from life far too soon, at age 52. Susan graduated from Brock University in St. Catharines, Ontario, with a degree in Psychology; she also attended an elementary teacher education program at Canisius College in Buffalo, New York. Susan loved to travel and she always embraced the culture, people and history of the many places she visited, including countries in Europe, Africa, The Carribean, and across Canada and the United States. More recently, she enjoyed annual summer road-trips with her life-long best friend to Cape Cod, Boston, New York City, Kingston, Montreal and Quebec City. Susan had a bucket list of places she wished to visit, and at the time of her passing, all places had been checked off. She relished the memories of spending many summers at her family's cottage in Victoria Harbour on Georgian Bay. During her life, Susan worked in a variety of jobs, always trying to find her true calling and define herself amidst her many creative talents and passions. In her personal journal, she wrote: "I don't know exactly what I am, but I'm curious enough to find out! I'm a writer. I'm a singer. I'm an actor. I'm a gardener. I'm an inventor. I'm a photographer. I'm a chef. I'm a designer. I'm a sower." Susan was a beautiful soul who will be greatly missed by her family members and friends. She will be especially missed and lovingly remembered by her surviving brothers, Gary Lynd of Oakville and David Lynd (and sister-in-law Amy Rubinger) of New Jersey, as well as her life-long best friend, Marina Pinder (nee Yorke) of Kingston. Susan was predeceased by her parents, James and Elaine Lynd of Oakville. Not a day in her life went by that she did not cherish their memories and longingly miss her beloved mother and father. A Funeral Service and celebration of Susan's life will be held on Saturday, November 23rd, at 2:00 p.m., at Maple Grove United Church, at 346 Maple Grove Drive, Oakville. A reception will follow the service, in the Friendship Room of Maple Grove United Church.
