The event will feature brief remarks from Mayor Burton as well as light refreshments and musical entertainment. Morpheus Meadows, 29, is the assistant manager of Comic Connection in Oak- ville and a Pokemon League organizer. He bicycles around Oakville year round. He teaches children and parents alike how to play the Pokemon card game at Duran Place for Kids and has discovered it is a wonderful way to bring the two together in friendly competition. In one word, how would your parent/ boss/signifi- cant other de- scribe you? Interesting. What are your favourite quali-favourite quali-f ties in a person? Honesty and a sense of hu- mour. What is your idea of hap- piness? Watching Power Rangers orWatching Power Rangers orW Walking Dead with myWalking Dead with myW friends.friends.f What are you most pas- sionate about? The sinking of the Titanic. What's your favourite smell? Vanilla.Vanilla.V What's your least favou- rite word? Impossible. Who is your favourite fic- tional character? Why? Trunks from Dragon Ball Z, the character is the defini- tion of doing what you have to do to survive. What do you love most about your city? They built a dog park two minutes from my house, so I'll always be thankful for that. What is something you wish everyone knew about you? I'm on a constant hunt for a pair of comfortable, long- lasting shoes. How did you get involved with the world of anime/ Pokemon? I started watching the show when it first came out, and I also played the video game since the beginning as well. What do you find appeal- ing about this world? Competitive play has al- ways appealed to me. At first I actually wanted tofirst I actually wanted tof compete, but now I love judging and organizing. Why do you enjoy teach- ing how to play Poke- mon? Watching children and par-Watching children and par-W ents learn so they can play Pokemon together and have fun playing something onfun playing something onf the child's level. Why do you encourage parents to learn how to play? Simple, it's a great bonding experience. Often what ends up happening is the parents come without the kids, asking for my help to defeat them. Hahahaha! Why is your Pokemon lab coat important to you? It's important to me because I really earned it. This coat I earned after rising from a basic VGC judge to a stage 2 judge (the highest level) in two years flat. It symbolizes that I made it.
