At around 10:50 a.m., members of the Oakville Fire Department respond- ed to 911 calls reporting a burning dump truck in a Tremaine Road field, near Dundas Street. "When crews arrived the vehicle's cab was fully involved," said Deputy Fire Chief Andy Glynn. "The crews knocked the fire down using some foam and the fire was extin- guished." Glynn said the vehicle was completely destroyed by the fire. Halton police were called to the scene and con- firmed the vehicle was sto- len from Hamilton. While the cause of the fire has yet to be confirmed media relations officer Const. Steve Elms said it is likely a safe assumption that the fire was deliberate- ly set. No suspect description is available at this time. Hamilton police will be investigating this incident, as that is where the theft occurred.
