Andrea Moore's Grade 5 class at Heritage Glen Pub- lic School in Oakville was given a Google classroom as- signment of writing a letter to an essential worker or group of workers -- whether it be at a hospital or else- where on the front line -- to thank them for their work during the COVID-19 pan- demic. In their letters, the 23 stu- dents also expressed what life is like now at home and how their lives have changed during the pan- demic. Accompanying the letters were handmade post- ers depicting health-care workers, police officers, gro- cery clerks and other essen- tial workers.
