Missing Our KSAP Friends If you've spent any time at KSM you've surely heard the laughter and fun coming from our After School Program. It's not the same in the building without our children and they are missed by everyone. Our program leads have been working hard to show the children how loved and cared for they are with several new online KSAP programs. Night Owls is a new program that was launched in the KSAP virtual classroom, where each night one of our staff reads a special story to the children. This helps to keep the group reading component of the program consistent and make it fun for the kid's as a bedtime story! There has been so much positive feedback from the kids and parents. One child even sent us a video of himself reading a story to share with the class. The virtual classroom has made it easier to implement another new program: People are Awesome. With so many doors closed, a HUGE door has opened for KSAP to welcome special guests with interesting talents or jobs to record a video about themselves or join KSAP live. They share what they do, why they do it, have a "show and tell" of uniforms and equipment and anything else they want to share. Each day a new video is posted along with a related activity for the kids to do at home (i.e. a workout video from a gymnast, vet clinic dramatic play, DIY stethoscopes, etc.). People are Awesome aims to expand the children's exposure to different people, jobs and experiences, as well as explore their interest in topics they love to talk about. Next will be a "We are Awesome" week where the kids will be challenged to create a video saying what makes them awesome.
