The deadly crash on the QEW near the Ford plant that killed 30-year-old Me- lissa Primok of Toronto, po- lice said, happened in two stages. The first on Oct. 30, 2020 involved a school bus, pick- up truck and a van that re- sulted in minor injuries. The school bus driver was charged with careless driv- ing, police revealed Friday (April 23). The second collision oc- curred seconds later, the OPP said, and involved a dump truck, transport truck and car. Primok was killed in the crash: The driver of the dump truck, a 62-year-old Caledon man, has been charged with criminal negligence caus- ing death in the crash, along with charges related to com- mercial vehicle safety. Primok worked with Bi- son Transport as a highway planner, the company said in a statement on its web- site, saying her death brought "great sorrow" to the company. "Melissa was a valued member of the Bison family and developed strong and meaningful friendships within the Mississauga ter- minal, as well as across our Bison network," the state- ment read, adding that Pri- mok Melissa worked for Bi- son for 3.5 years, "but was al- ready well-known to many as her father, Terry, is a val- ued member of our profes- sional driving team. Melissa held various roles during her time at Bison but her commitment to the drivers was unwavering.
