Georgetown District High School (GDHS) arts students hosted an inter- generational celebration called "Elves of Arts" at Mountainview Residence. The community event was created in order to give community members of all ages a venue to connect and celebrate together. The idea of the event is to combat loneliness at Christmas and promote intergenerational friendship. Families, young chil- dren, youth, seniors and people from all walks of life joined together, sharing- stories and laughter. The event featured singing, dec- orating cookies with chef Paul Mattina and creating Christmas ornaments and artwork. Christoph Summer, owner of Mountainview Residence, and Nicole Iva- nusevic, their life enrich- ment manager, did a won- derful job hosting and gra- ciously offered their venue for GDHS students to use. The event was well attend- ed and many wonderful community members came to support this students' ini- tiative, including police offi- cers and former military. Everyone's time and en- ergy was so much appreci- ated and the students would like to thank all who rallied together to make this fes- tive evening possible. Thank you also to all com- munity members who helped GDHS students col- lect presents for seniors in need from various commu- nity residences. COMMUNITY GDHS STUDENTS CONNECT WITH SENIORS AT INTERGENERATIONAL EVENT Students from Georgetown District High School along with children from the community visited the Mountainview Residence to share time with seniors making crafts, singing and decorating cookies.
