Public visitors will be required to answer a short series of screening questions prior to facility entry. These screening questions adhere to direction from Halton Region's Medical Officer of Health to help determine the likelihood of a person's exposure to the COVID-19 virus. Note: the screening program will keep an attendance log for 30 days in the event that contact tracing is required by Halton Public Health. After this period, data is automatically deleted. OPINION As a long-term resident of Georgetown, I needed to call our local 911 for help, as my wife was in critical condition on the after- noon of July 27. The response by police, ambulance and fire ser- vices was a very few min- utes. Police arrived and immediately took over CPR from my son, who is ex-military, with continu- ous coaching and updat- ing from the lady on dis- patch. Paramedics took over from them shortly after and all tried hard to make things happen but unfor- tunately were unable. Everyone of these good people were efficient, courteous and helpful and took care of everything, including the coroner and funeral home, with one of- ficer staying with us the whole time until my wife was taken away and ad- vised us what to do in ev- ery detail. We would like to thank every one of them and are extremely proud to have them serving us in Halton Hills. The following morning, I received a call from the police services board ask- ing if they could help us further in any way, which was another example of how fortunate we are. I would also like to thank the doctors and staff of both Georgetown and Oakville Trafalgar hospitals for their great service during the previ- ous nine weeks of caring for my wife through sever- al major and difficult op- erations.
