The rare November tor- nado was confirmed by Northern Tornadoes Pro- ject (NTP), a Western Uni- versity-based group that works to detect and docu- ment tornadoes across the country. Based on damage pat- terns, NTP said the torna- do touched down near Tra- falgar Road, passed across Johnson Crescent, McCul- lough Crescent, Banting Road, Ruddell Crescent and the northern part of Joycelyn Crescent. It then crossed Highway 7 and fol- lowed a path along Wild- wood Road. It crossed the intersection of Wildwood and Confederation Street in Glen Williams before dissipating near the end of Joseph Street in Glen Wil- liams. Most of the damage re- ported was trees falling and some roof damage to houses. The tornado was classed as an EF1 (on the Fujita Scale which goes from EF0 to EF5), producing winds of 135 km/h, with a maximum width of 360 metres, ac- cording to NTP. It was the 41st tornado recorded in Ontario this year. This story has been cor- rected to reflect the direc- tion the tornado travelled.
