Halton Region 2021 Budget and Business Plan 12 03 20 Halton police are calling on residents to make this holiday season a special one for strug- gling families in this community by participating in the 2020 Mira- cle on Main Street and Cram-a- Cruiser events. Officers noted there are many families within Halton that are less fortunate and some who are simply not able to buy their chil- dren toys for the holidays. "This year, we believe the struggle could be even greater for more families," said Sgt. Ric Jud- son of the Halton police Regional Community Mobilization Bu- reau. To help these families, Hal- ton police and the Tiger Jeet Singh Foundation are holding their annual Miracle on Main Street (formerly Toys for Tots) Christmas donation drive. This is the third year the two organizations have worked to- gether to hold this event. Judson noted this collabora- tion has allowed the two organi- zations to enhance the annual do- nation drives and help more fam- ilies in need. All donations collected are distributed to Halton schools, community agencies and fami- lies. Donations can be made on- line at www.MiracleOnMain.ca. Due to the pandemic, police said they will not be accepting toy donations at their facilities. They are instead encouraging everyone to donate gift cards and cash. Halton police have supported families through the Toys for Tots and Miracle on Main Street campaign since 1999.
