Khawari knows only too well these vulnerable, marginalized individuals present just as realis- tic a picture of the affluent region as the million-dollar homes and expensive cars. They may not al- ways be visible, but they exist. "I can't hear one more time someone saying that there is no poverty in Halton," said Khawari.
