THE GRANARY, OAKVILLE, ONTARIO

The Granary, on Sixteen Mile Creek, dates back to the 1850's when wheat was the Port of Oakville's most profitable export and grain wagons converged on the town from as far away as Owen Sound. It was one of several such warehouses in the harbour area where grain was stored until it was loaded into the holds of schooners.
