The World Health Organization declared the Covid-19 Pandemic on March 11, 2020. Like most of the world, the Town of Halton Hills responded to the unknown quickly: facilities closed, events were cancelled and when possible, residents remained home.

In May 2020, Halton Hills Public Library opened a virtual submission portal to gather stories, photos and more from community members. Over 120 submissions have helped document Halton Hills’ experience with the Covid-19 pandemic. Click here to view all of the submissions.

This exhibit is meant to help community members reflect on the difficult time period in which we came together as a community and saw great things happen, despite many hardships. By combining community submissions and media from the Independent and Free Press in timeline features, we can watch Halton Hills’ Covid-19 story unfold.
