Daughter of late John and Anna Tresa who immigrated from Tahanovce, Czechoslovakia to Kapuskasing, Ontario, where Mary was born and raised. She is predeceased by her siblings Steve Tresa and Anne Steeves. Beloved wife of the late Winston Cragg for 45 years, loving mother to Theresa (Marc) and Michael (Christine). Adored by five grandchildren, Ethan, Gideon, Elliot, Judah, and Ezekiel. Mary touched the lives of so many people, as she was the most thoughtful, loving, empathetic, kindest, and most positive and determined person in the world. Mary will be missed by many family and friends, including those acquired at the Chartwell Waterford Retirement Home in Oakville, where she became a bit of a celebrity. As a registered nurse for 57 years, she started her career at the Ottawa Hospital, then moved to Toronto to work in the operating room at St. Michaels Hospital. Many knew her from her time working in Dr. Maley's office in Milton. Also working in the offices of Dr. Chan, Dr. Schachter, Dr. Peers, Dr. Chung, and Dr. De Jong, she became known as Mary Queen of Shots, for her gentle touch; and everyone looked forward to her welcoming and warm smile. Mary also worked in the flower department at Loblaws for a few years. Mary lived life to the fullest and was sure to capture every single moment, as a camera was always in hand, for just one more picture. Mary was immensely proud of her grandchildren and attending their extracurricular activities became a steady routine; the boys will certainly miss their biggest cheerleader. Special thanks to the staff at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital for their comforting care, patience, and determination to try and keep her with us. May you rest in peace with Dad. We all love you, and you will forever be in our hearts and in our lives. "During your times of trial and suffering, when you only see one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you" SEUNARINE, Mary Athelene January 23, 1958 - December 17, 2021 ------------------ Mary Athelene Seunarine was born in San Fernando, Trinidad & Tobago and emigrated to Canada as a child in 1962 where she grew up in the Westdale neighbourhood of Hamilton. A Western graduate she began a rewarding career at the CBC before marrying the love of her life, Dan, in 1991. Mary then settled in Oakville in 1997 to adopt her two children and raise a family. An avid traveler Mary's love of adventure began with childhood camping trips that crossed the country coast to coast. She went on to spend a summer working at the Sunshine Village ski resort in Alberta and complete the renowned Outward Bound program in BC. Her travels took her camping in Ontario, visiting in Trinidad, and vacationing in Cuba. When her children came along Mary didn't slow down a bit as she organized summer vacations for her family. She was a skilled planner and her itineraries were always varied, fun, and educational. With a sharp eye for interior design Mary delighted in decorating her home to make it bright and lively with each room having its own theme and style. A talented crafter if she couldn't find what she wanted in the stores she would make her own unique adornments. As a mother Mary had the deepest love for her children. With an indomitable spirit she met every parenting challenge head on and fearlessly advocated for her children to ensure that they received every advantage. Her determination and tenacity led her to regularly participate in civic affairs as well. In her later years Mary took a keen interest in the issue of the rights of Indigenous people. With so many years left to live, so much left to do, and so much love and wisdom still to share Mary passed away after a long battle with breast cancer. Predeceased by her parents Isaac Fulton Seunarine and Pearl Margarita Seunarine (née Sankeralli) she will be greatly missed by her husband Dan, her beloved children Clayton and Jasmine, her brothers Clarence (Ana and her daughter Ella) and Atheling (Kim), and her nephew Sterling.
