Goodwill, The Amity Group and Volunteer Hal- ton are hosting their first Volunteer Recruitment event on Wednesday, May 4. Registration for volun- teer-engaging organiza- tions is open now and is free but limited. Registra- tions will be confirmed on a first come, first served basis the week of April 11. Organizations will have the opportunity to connect with prospective volun- teers who have been pre- screened according to the agency's on-boarding poli- cies and procedures, for 15- minute interviews via Zoom. Before the event: • Goodwill will provide organizations with a list of assessments that might be assigned to potential vol- unteers based on require- ments for the role. • Connect with Goodwill staff to provide pre-deter- mined screening and as- sessment requirements. • Goodwill staff will col- lect required documenta- tion and assessment re- sults in advance of event day including, resumes, training certificates, proof of vaccination, etc. • Prepare your team to conduct interviews where you will inform the poten- tial volunteer on their suit- ability for the role, next steps, and timelines for your follow up with them. • The planning team will work to put out the call to potential volunteers in Hamilton & Halton through social networks, email blasts and communi- ty partners. • Candidates will sign up for the event on the Good- will website and be con- tacted to assign assess- ments and collect resumes, training certificates, proof of vaccination etc. For more information, or to register, email Heather Johnson, director, Volun- teer Halton at hejohn- son@cdhalton.ca or Shan- non McCracken, job devel- oper/job coach at smccrack- en@goodwillonline.ca VOLUNTEER RECRUITMENT EVENT SET THINGS TO DO Volunteer-seeking organizations can register now for volunteer recruitment event. The Have Your Say sur- vey is open until April 21 The information gath- ered from the survey will help the board continue to inform school improve- ment and well-being plans and allow parents/guard- ians and students to have a voice in creating a support- ive community in HDSB schools. The survey will also provide the board with feedback regarding the goals and targets in the HDSB's Multi-Year Plan 2020-2024. Information collected from the survey will be shared in the fall.
