CLUB*20" By Marion Languay A pretty dark-haired, well-tan- ned girl walked into Club "20" Saturday and sat, a little deject. edly, on one of the couches in the lounge. A state of mutual inac- tivity caused conversation, and before long I had a complete summary of things to do and places to see during my approaching va- cation, All this from someone who has spent many summers at the family cottage in Muskoka. That topic exhausted. she turned with a sigh and said, "Do you know anyone in Guelph?" To their surprise, they had many mutual friends in that town, had frequented the same haunts, and 50 had a lot in common. And so the story goes. . . . So you see, there's no need to feel alone and lonely away from ° home. Vi Pond's first trip to Club "20" paid off with a new friend from the old hometown. It you are having friends out for the week-end, plan on bring- ing them to Club "20" dancing to Murray Hunter and his orchestra. We'd like to get a comment now and then on how you think they're doing. How good the first garden greens taste! We like them with a sharp French dressing, perhaps with a dash of green onion and crumbled old cheese. The best tip we can give you is: Toss the greens with the dressing just be- fore you serve them, GARDEN SALAD cup shredded raw carrot cups shredded raw spinach cup shredded raw beets cup grated onion 4 cup shredded radishes 4 cup well seasoned French dressing. Combine vegetables and chill in electric refrigerator. Drain well, and add the French dressing. Toss BUSINESS DIRECTORY T. S. H.
