No more ex- ams until Easter, but there the results of these exams to cope with yet. = Some people in town are won- dering what students do in their spare time and how the Stu- dent's Council operates and themes, and what there is in the way of extra-curricular activ- ities. So next week in this col- umn there will be printed all the information on the Student's Council. President Ralph McKim has kindly granted me permis- are its sion to sit in on the next meet- ing. You people that gre dering be sure to read weeld's column. ' Bowling has been going on reg- ularly each Wednesday and it | looks as if there will be a close | race for the highest score asi! there are many boys who have been lighting up very high scores. Last Thursday afternoon, after exams, the bandmaster from Central Command came over and gave the high school cadet band a very interesting talk on how. bands operate in the army and what a bandman is expected to do. It was very interesting and each member of the band en- joyed it. Basketball and hockey sche- dules are being drawn up this week, so that winter sports will be able to get under way as soon as the time comes along. With all the exams this week the school has been quite quiet and not very much has happen- ed, so Lll sign off now, but I'll be back again next week. won next Scouting By Clare Willis Last Saturday 35 Cubs hiked up to the Red Hills and built fires and cooked played games on what was the most perfect December 4th on record. It was the first hike for the new Cubs, with the exception of one Ukranian, George, who told us about going on Cub hikes in his own country before coming to Canada over a year ago. George's pledge, "to do a good turn to someone else every day", leaves no room at all for self. A very different version of the promise was achieved by a shy, and greatly confused Ham- ilton Cub, who, when he was in- vested, rashly pledged himself to "do a good turn to everybody' someday." And now for your good turn to the Scouts Saturday! Please be sure to have your salvage pa- per, newspapers, baled cartons, magazines, securely tied, - and out on the curb, or at the end of the driveway in good time on Saturday morning, the 1lth so that when the truck comes around there is no time wasted while the boys ring doorbells, let alone go down to cellars and The Seal that lives . . and lets live Christmas Seals live throughout the year . . . making possible 365 days of tuberculosis education, X-ray examination, patient rehabilitation and medical research.
