Ntots 'n teens Foxy Bird A successful hunting sortie was reported last week end by Spud Bird, who brought down a fox while beating the gorse in Trafalgar. According to a surprised and astounded Eddie Rowe, Spud was sleeping in fol- lowing his firm's Christmas par- ty when aroused for the hunt ing trip by a group of friends. "He was still asleep, to all in- tents and purposes, when the gang started out" maintained Eddie. "Only thing we can fig- ure is that the fox mistook him for a stump, stopped to scratch himself, and accidentally dis- charged the gun. It was a dandy specimen, anyway!" For your own safety and the safety of other road users-- pedestrians and motorists--observe the following sug- gestions: 1. On wet, snowy or icy road surfaces drive at reduced speed. "2. When stopping, apply brakes lightly and intermittently. Jamming on the brakes may bring about a skid. 3. Keep windshield and windows free of snow and ice outside, and fog and frost Inside. 4. Be sure that brakes, steering mechanism and tires are in safe condition to help offset the extra hazards of Winter driving. Drive and Walk Safely ONTARIO DEPARTMENT OF ARTIGHWAYS a GEO, H. DOUCETT
