The answer is no. In explanation there is this much to say. The Choral Society was hoping to have a concert on the 30th of April, and had gone so far as to contact a well-known Canadian baritone as the assisting artist. Being as it is, under the aus- pices of the Art and Crafts, it was thought best to consult with the executive of that organization regarding support in the matter of various committees necessary for such a project. At its meeting, the executive of the Arts and Crafts decided that it was a bit late, and that there was hardly enough time to prop- erly organize the 'event to be as- sured of a success. Not being a money-making or- ganization, but largely interested in opening up avenues where cul- tural activities could be pursued, the Arts and Crafts was not over- ly upset about the money laid out for music which was rehears- ed during the winter months. The executive expressed itself as be: ing pleased to help in any way to provide an opportunity for those who want to sing choral music. The thought was expressed that maybe in the Fall a concert could be staged. Some of those who ri hearsed might be a little disap- pointed at not having a concert, but there are others who feel that it has been instructive and enjoyable to come and practice Gifts & Greetings for You -- through WELCOME WAGON from Your Friendly Business Neighbors and Civic and Social Welfare Leaders On the occasion of: The Birth of a Baby EngagementAnnouncements Change of residence Arrivals of Newcomers to City PHONE 807 (No cost or obligation) even if a concert is not held. It is not time wasted. A new chorus from the Messiah was re- hearsed, a chorus from. Goun- oud's Redemption was tackled, and several choruses of a lighter character were also practised. The rehearsals provided a form of recreation.
