An old-fashioned garden with terraced lawns and nautical shore house will be the principal features at the estate of Harry W. Grierson. Next on the tour is the beautiful circular garden of Dr. H. C. Scadding, with many rare varieties of iris. At the estate of John BE. Ham- mell visitors will see a new rose garden with three hundred nam- ed varieties of roses, and a green- house containing a number of singing birds. Here tea will be served by members of 'the Auxil- jary from 3 to 5.30 p.m. Next stop will be the summer home of Ontario's lieutenant- governor, Hon. Ray Lawson, with its spacious lawns and pagoda bath house beside the pool. The last two gardens to be visited are those of Frank Pullen and T. R. Jarvis. Transportation between the gardens is being provided by the Auxiliary, starting from in front of the post office. Tickets may be purchased at the entrance of any qne of the gardens. The roof should be finished by the end of June, and the building comple- ted and ready for opening about September. The new churrch is located on Reynolds Street north of Colborne. It will have a seat- ing capacity of eighty, but may be easily enlarged to accommo- date 150. Funds for the construc- tion are in hand, and the new edifice, when completed, will be free from mortgage. WEDDINGS FARLEY--MERRY Standards of white snapdragon, stocks and carnations formed the setting in St John's United Church on Saturday afternoon, when Elizabeth Amne (Betty) Merry, became the bride of Rich- ard J. Farley. The bride is the daughter of Mr: and Mrs. W. Har- land Merry, Queen Elizabeth Highway West, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Farley. Rey. Harry Pawson of- ficiated, and Miss L. M. McBain played the wedding music. Miss Patricia Longstaff, Toronto, sang "Because" and "I'll Walk Beside You." Escorted to the altar by her father, who gave her in mar- riage, the bride wore a gown of camelia white imported lace over taffeta, the tight-fitted . bodice featured a deep yoke of illusion net, with lace applique, the sheath-tight sleeves extended in lily points over the hands, and the graceful skirt swept into a circular train. The veil of met il- lusion was arranged from a lace Juliet cap, and the bride carried a bouquet of white roses and bouvardia. ~ Miss Judy Merry was her sis- ter's maid of honor, wearing a strapless gown of mint green ny- lon marquisette over taffeta, with matching cape. She wore a crownless picture hat of match- Ing marquisette and taffeta. Miss Margaret Maw, Toronto, Miss Inge-Lisa Juul, and Miss Joan Farley were bridesmaids. At the re- ception held at the Oakville Club, Mrs. Merry received her many guests wearing a gown of pale aqua crepe. She wore a small hat of net veiling and flowers, and corsage of Johanna Hill roses and bouvardia. Mrs. Farley, mother of the groom, chose a gown of French blue crepe and lace, with matching hat accented with flow- ers, and corsage of pink roses. For travelling the bride chose a suit of navy charmaine with navy hat and white accessories. After September 1st, Mr. and Mrs, Far- ley will reside in St. Catharines, where Mr. Farley will be on the staff of Ridley College.
