After receiving prompt and skilled intervention at Trillium Hospital following a heart attack last week, he unfortunately later passed suddenly while in the care of OTMH. Our Dad, Opa to his nine Grandchildren and great Grandchild, was an amazing man. He was a pillar of strength throughout his life, always ready to lend a hand if ever needed. He was a wealth of knowledge, and the smartest man we knew. There was very little he did not know, and very little he could not fix. If you ever needed a tool or part, he would often find it for you in his home. Our Dad led a full life in his 90 years. Having crossed the Ocean from Germany to build a new life from scratch in Canada. He fathered four children, and filled our childhood with many adventures. Weekends and holidays were spent camping, fishing, hunting, boating, and sailing. Because of him, we all continue to have a love for the great outdoors. When dad set his mind to do something, nothing was going to stop him from accomplishing the task. He was predeceased by our mother, Sigrid, Oma, to her grandchildren, in April of last year. After 65 years of dedicated marriage, it was only death that separated them from each other. He went on bravely and independently in the last year of his life, because he promised her he would do so, even though he was heartbroken at the loss of his dear Sigi. Despite his heartache, he kept a smile on his face and answered the phone joyfully with each and every call he received from his children and grandchildren, always so grateful to have our company or hear our voices. He loved his garden and even cared for his lawn up to his final days. His home and property brought him a great sense of joy and comfort. He will be deeply missed by the legacy he has left behind. This includes his children, Ingrid (Jim), Fritz (Stacey), Henry (Judy), Anita (Mark), his grandchildren Jennifer (Thane), Andrew (Kassaundra), Vince (Julie), Katrina (Wade), Rachel (Derek), Calleigh (Josh), Kyle, Riley, Spencer (Barb), Cory, Amanda (Tyler), Christene (Ryan), Stephanie (Brandon), and his great grandson, baby Henry. Thank you, Dad, for all you provided and everything you did for us. We are forever grateful. Enjoy the Happy Ever After with Mom. We hope you are both chatting away endlessly again, for all of eternity. Forever in our hearts. We love you, Dad! www.smithsfh.com TALBOT, Vera June 20, 1936-May 22, 2022 ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ It is with deep sadness we announce the sudden passing of Vera Talbot. No stain was on your little heart, sin had not entered there; and innocence slept sweetly on that pale white brow so fair. You were too pure for this cold earth, too beautiful to stay, and so God's holy angel bore our darling one away. The rolling stream of life rolls on. But still the vacant chair recalls the love, the voice, the smile of the one who once sat there. 1-800-263-6480 classifieds@metroland.comCLASSIFIEDS OBITUARIES | ANNOUNCEMENTS | JOBS | MARKETPLACE OBITUARIES
