The bridge was built in 1940. Due to its deteriorating condition, ongoing erosion and risk of flooding, the bridge requires replacement. The process: This Study will satisfy the requirements of a Schedule 'B' project as outlined in the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) document (October 2000, as amended in 2015). This Class EA Study will build on and utilize information from previously completed reports that were developed as part of the Lakeshore Road West Improvements Study. Online consultation: The town is hosting a Public Information Centre to share the recommended solution for bridge replacement. On Monday, May 30 at 7 a.m., police were called af- ter a man was observed smashing the glass panels of a bus shelter in the Ford Drive and Devon Road ar- ea. The individual was gone by the time police ar- rived. The day before, police said, two other bus shelters were vandalized in the Ford Drive and Cornwall Road area. The cost of the damage has been estimated at more than $5,000. The suspect from the May 30 incident is de- scribed as a white male, in his early 20s, six feet tall and with a heavy build. BUS SHELTERS VANDALIZED NEWS Halton police have made four arrests and seized a handgun following the rob- bery of an Oakville phar- macy on Tuesday, June 7. At around 2:30 p.m., four men entered the Halton Pharmacy at 1060 Speers Rd., "jumped the counter" and took narcotics from the safe, police said. They then fled the area in a stolen vehicle, police said. An investigation result- ed in Halton police arrest- ing four men as they walked out of a restaurant in Mississauga a short time later. Police said that at the time of the arrests, officers located several large bot- tles of narcotics and a load- ed Glock 40 calibre hand- gun. A 21-year-old man from Brampton, a 22-year-old man from Brampton and a 19-year-old man from Mis- sissauga all face charges of possession of property ob- tained by crime under $5,000, possession for the purpose of trafficking and knowledge of unautho- rized possession of a fire- arm in a motor vehicle. An 18-year-old man from Brampton has been charged with possession of a prohibited device, posses- sion of a dangerous weap- on, carrying a concealed weapon, unauthorized pos- session of a prohibited fire- arm, possession of a fire- arm knowing unautho- rized, knowledge of unau- thorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, possession of prohibited firearm ammunition, breach of firearm regula- tions, careless use of a fire- arm, possession of proper- ty obtained by crime under $5,000, and possession for the purpose of trafficking. None of these charges have been proven in court. Three individuals are being held in custody pend- ing a bailing hearing. One man has been re- leased pending a court ap- pearance.
