The town of Oakville honored some 36 of its citizens last week by recognizing their years of service to the community. Mayor McLean Anderson presented the 25 year service awards. The mayor who appears first in the back row posed with some of the recipients, to his right (third row) Frank Burke, Albert Johnson, Ken Johnston, Tom Paul, Jimmy James, John Lawrence. (Second row) George Wright, Hilmer Lofquist, Charles Snowball, Bob Hall, Ken Giles, George Atkins, Lorenzo Wainer, Jack Hopkins and fire chief Douglas Wilson. (Front row): Grant Bray, Eldon Perkins, Harry Wilson, Oswald Farmer and William Cook. The recipients, so of them over 90 years old were treated to a luncheon at the Holiday Inn where they spent some time talking about fond memories.
