Prior election experience is not required for most of the roles, as the town will provide all neces- sary training. Election workers could be as- signed to one of many functions, such as general information and customer service, voter verifica- tion, ballot issuing and location su- pervision. Compensation will be provided based on the position. For more information on the employment opportunities or to apply for one of these opportuni- ties visit https://elections.oak- ville.ca/employment.html. Online applications will re- main open until all positions are filled. Town staff noted that for Ca- nadian citizens, longtime resi- dents and retirees, working in the election is a meaningful way to support their community. Staff also said it is an ideal op- portunity for youth looking to build their resumé. These employment opportuni- ties are also open to new resi- dents who are legally eligible to work even though they may not be eligible to vote. Town staff said all voting loca- tions are physically accessible, and the town welcomes individu- als of all abilities to apply. Residents who speak multiple languages in addition to being fluent in English are also wel- come to apply. Town staff said their linguistic skills will be valuable in connect- ing with and supporting voters.
