To improve network connectivity and address forecasted travel demand to 2031, Halton Region is initiating a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Study to consider a range of options for corridor improvements to Regional Road 25. A wide range of multi-modal transportation improvements will be considered including widening of the roadway, cross-sectional requirements, active transportation, intersection improvements, overall traffic operations, as well as the impact of such improvements on the social, cultural and natural environments. Process The study will be carried out in accordance with Schedule C of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA), (October 2000, as amended 2007, 2011 and 2015), which is an approved process under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act. Public and review agency consultation is a key element of the MCEA process and input will be sought at key milestones throughout this study. Details regarding upcoming Public Information Centres (PIC) will be advertised as the study progresses. Upon completion of the study, an Environmental Study Report (ESR) will be prepared and placed on the public record for a minimum 30-day review period. The document will detail the planning and consultation process and the preferred alternative. Comments Comments received through the course of the study will be considered and documented in the MCEA Study Report. Second boosters will be by ap- pointment only at Halton Region community clinics and must be booked through the region's on- line booking system (halton.ca/ COVIDvaccines) or by calling 311. Appointments are available at Halton Region community clinics located in Burlington, Halton Hills, Oakville and Milton. Residents 18 years of age and older may receive a second boost- er at five months (or 140 days) af- ter their first booster, according to the region's health department. Halton public health recom- mends that those at higher risk of severe disease from COVID-19 in- fection and those who are already eligible get their next dose as soon as possible. You are asked to bring your health card; if you do not have one, bring a piece of photo ID with your name and date of birth, and arrive no earlier than 10 minutes before your appointment. First and second doses for 5- to 11-year-olds will remain as walk- in only at Halton's pediatric clin- ics. Residents can also receive their doses of COVID-19 vaccine, including fourth doses/second boosters, at provincial GO-VAXX bus stops, participating pharma- cies and some primary care pro- viders. The province's pharmacy finder tool allows residents to sort by location and vaccine type (Pfiz- er or Moderna). Residents are asked to only call 311 if you require immediate book- ing support or do not have inter- net access. Antibodies from vaccination or infection may decrease over time, so keeping up with doses, es- pecially for those at higher risk of complications from the virus, is critical for preventing severe ill- ness and hospitalization, said public health.
