Our family is devastated to announce the very sudden passing of Mary Jovanovic at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. Cherished companion and soulmate of Marin for forty -four wonderful years. Loving and supportive mother of Kimberly, Til and Maria (Lindsay). Adored grandmother of Marissa Mary Grace otherwise known as "Nanna's little sweetpea!" Predeceased by both of her parents, John Edward, and Greta Anne Stevenson (nee Patterson) and her brother, David John Stevenson. Survived by her siblings - Beverly (late Russ Hughes) of Cambridge, Bonnie (late Dennis Mc Master) of Picton, Robert (Linda) of Marysville, Randy (Diane) of Milford and Darlene (Gary Hambley) of Belleville. Loved and was loved as well as God mother to many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews and lots of extended family, friends and chosen family. A special mention to her sidekick and coffee buddy, Darlene Geach. They both looked forward to planning their days whether it be going to appointments together, shopping or even enjoying the outside sitting on a park bench and talking. Frequently at the end of their day together, they would grab a Timmy's coffee for our dad and themselves to bring back home and enjoy while sharing conversation between the three of them before Darlene went home. Mary was born in Picton, Ontario on August 16th, 1946. She was raised in a family of nine with her parents and seven children. At a young age, she was known as a second mom - a caregiver to her younger siblings. You would think that raising so many children and being a child herself, would avert her from wanting her own children but it did the opposite. Mary loved every child that crossed her path. Whether it was a family member, a neighbour or a child in a stroller passing by that she thought was adorable - she would always attempt to make eye contact and make them smile or laugh. The only difference was that family members and close friends were branded by many kisses with her trademark "permanent" red lipstick. It would be no secret that Mary smothered those children with love, cuddles, and lots of obvious kisses. She has been an honorary grandma to many children - more recently their neighbour's children - Nico, Anabel and Seby. Children always gravitated to her and her pure, loving, and nurturing soul. Mary worked at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital for thirty years. She met many wonderful people and developed several lifelong friendships. Mary retired from the Oakville Hospital eighteen years ago and was overjoyed to be spending more time with family, friends and the one and only "love of her life". Life was full circle now. She was saved by her soulmate decades ago and experienced a love she never thought was possible. Not everyone is fortunate to find that love and we are so glad that she did. She would always comment on how our dad treated her so well and how he was such a good man who gave her an amazing life. Truth be told, she did the very same for our dad. They had a love not everyone finds, and we were fortunate to be raised in this loving, respectful and compassionate atmosphere. This love story hasn't ended as it has just begun. It is only currently paused, until they meet again and continue to live in eternity to carry on where they left off. This pain is unimaginable, and we wonder how we will get through our minutes, days, weeks, and years without you. There will never be a day that you are not thought of. Until our family is reunited, you remain in our hearts. We love you! Visitation will be held at Glen Oaks Funeral Home at 3164 Ninth Line in Oakville (at Dundas Street) on Sunday, July 17, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., followed by a service in the Chapel from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mary's memory to a charity of your choice or to the Interval House of Hamilton or Mattie's Place. My love, my hunny, my beautiful lady .... my wife. My mentor, my everything, my protector, my hero .... my mom. My rock, my inspiration, my teapot, my best friend .... my nanna. BIRUKOWICZ, Halina 1944-2022 ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Halina Maria Birukowicz at the age of 78, on July 20, 2022 at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital after a difficult year long battle with cancer. FITZGERALD, Jeannine ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ With profound sadness, our family announces the passing of Jeannine Fitzgerald (Mami) on July 20, 2022, at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. She was the beloved and loving wife of Gerald Fitzgerald, loving mother of Josée Boisvert (David Cobbold). She also leaves behind her beloved granddaughters, Bianca and Lana and her brother André Smith (Jocelyne). Jeannine died peacefully with Josée, her devoted daughter, by her side. Born in Montreal on January 9th, 1937, raised and educated there, Jeannine became an exemplary businesswoman in Québec in the farm equipment industry sector (Belarus). Jeannine was awarded as the first woman in Canada to achieve the position of General Manager in this industry. This is where she met Gerald. In 1982 she moved to Mississauga, Ontario and they married in December 1988. Once in Ontario she pursued a career as Manager, Customer Financial Services at Ralston Purina. Here she met a very special group of ladies who remain friends to this day. Jeannine was known to always be the most stylish and elegant lady at any event as well as a beautiful woman on the inside - a loyal and committed lifelong friend to many in Montreal and here in Oakville. Jeannine was so proud of her daughter Josée and her granddaughters Lana and Bianca. 'Mami' spent many over nights spoiling the girls, taking them to movies and shopping and playing dress-up. Mami loved fashion and décor and fun. She wholeheartedly cared for her family, her husband, her friends, and her pets and prayed for all who needed a little help from above. Jeannine was full of life and love - a little cheeky too - and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She was especially supportive and understanding to those in need and never judgmental, always wanting the best for others and doing what she could to ensure their happiness and comfort. Admired for her grace and fortitude, guided by her faith, she will be remembered as a passionate and accomplished woman. Her family wishes to thank the folks at VIVA Oakville for their generous support. Gerald will continue to live at VIVA where both Jeannine and Gerry fostered great friendships within the community. Our deepest thanks to all the staff at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital for their care and compassion throughout Jeannine's difficult journey. The Prayer to the Blessed Virgin ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ (Never known to fail) Oh most Beautiful Flower of Mt. Carmel, Fruitful Vine, Splendor of Heaven, Blessed Mother of the Son of God, Immaculate Virgin, assist me in my necessity. Oh Star of the Sea, help me and show me herein you are my Mother. Oh Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and earth I humbly beseech you from the bottom of my heart to succor me in my necessity (make request). There are none that can withstand your power. Oh Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee (three times). Holy Mary I place this cause in your hands (three times). Say this prayer for 3 consecutive days. You must publish it and it will be granted to you. B.L. OBITUARIES ANNOUNCEMENTS OBITUARIES | REMEMBERING THE LIVES OF THOSE IN OUR COMMUNITY In my heart your memory lingers, always tender, fond and true; there's not a day, dear friend, I do not think of you. A sweet little flower, nipped in the bud, no grief or sorrow knew; just came to earth to win our love and then to Heaven withdrew. No stain was on your little heart, sin had not entered there; and innocence slept sweetly on that pale white brow so fair. You were too pure for this cold earth, too beautiful to stay, and so God's holy angel bore our darling one away.
