Surprise dinner in honor of 50th

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Telford of Birkbank Drive were surprised by a dinner given at the Cara Inn recently in honor of their 50th wedding anniversary.

Dick and Jayne Telford and Jim Telford invited relatives and friends of many years, including an uncle Alex Telford of Owen Sound, nephews and family from Ottawa and New Hampshire.

Another surprise was a reception Sunday afternoon for neighbours and friends at the Holiday Inn.

Congratulations were received from the Governor-General of Canada Ed Schreyer, Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, Ontario Premier William Davis, Leader of the Opposition Joe Clark, Halton MPP Jim Snow and Halton MP Otto Jelinek. Mayor Harry Barrett and his wife presented a framed letter of congratulations from the Town of Oakville.

Mr. and Mrs. Telford would like to thank their many good friends for their kindness and congratulations.
