The group recently completed their new album "The Wanderer." • Jimmy Rankin: The Canadian country and folk artist's hits include "Following Her Around," "Morning Bound Train," and "Cool Car." He also wrote "Mull River Shuf- fle," a Cape Breton anthem with an all-age following that has long been jamming dance floors and mosh pits at parties, weddings and raves as the last big song of the night. • The Irish Descendants: This Juno Award-winning folk music group is from the southern shores of Newfoundland. Their music is described as a blend of Irish- Newfoundland-influenced songs and tunes, that come from the heart and soul and tell the story of Irish Newfoundland. Their pop- ularity within that province led to their se- lection as the official band for Newfound- land's 500th anniversary celebrations, dur- ing which they performed for the Queen. • Jimmy Flynn: The Jimmy Flynn Music & Comedy Show has remained one of the most memorable performances available for 25 years. With a high-energy blend of side-splitting comedy and popular music, Jimmy Flynn remains Canada's ambassa- dor of good cheer. The event will take place in Westwood Park (corner of Kerr and Bond streets) with gates opening at 4:30 p.m. Kerrfest also features food vendors and a pop-up market. Tickets are $10 each. Sunday afternoon (Sept. 11) will feature Kerrfest Kids, a free ticketed event with en- tertainment from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in West- wood Park. For more information and updates, visit Kerrfest.ca.
